Rav Shimon Schwab (December 30, 1908 – February 13, 1995) was a community leader in Germany before the war, and the Rav of Khal Adath Jeshurun in Washington Heights from 1958 until his passing. In Germany, Rav Schwab learned in Rav Samson Raphael Hirsch's yeshiva, and was a proponent of the Torah Im Derech Eretz movement.
Rav Schwab was also a product of the Lithuanian system, having attended the Telshe Yeshiva. He combined his erudition in learning with a simple, heart-felt yiras shamayim, palpable in his own words: "If you wish for something, then you should daven for it. That’s how a Jew deals with all situations - with tefillah, Torah, and mitzvos."
