Rav Nosson Tzvi Finkel (March 12, 1943 - November 8, 2011), was the Rosh Yeshiva of the Mir in Jerusalem from 1990 until his passing. During this time, he built the Mir into the largest yeshiva in Israel, having taught an estimated 25,000 students during his lifetime.

Rav Finkel's passion for Torah, his never-ending diligence, his contagious passion, and his constant encouragement made him beloved to all those around him. Upon Rav Finkel's passing, his generation proclaimed, "If a person were to give all of his belongings for the love that Rav Nosson Tzvi had for Torah, it would be ridiculed."
