Rav Boruch Ber Leibowitz (1864 – November 17, 1939) was a main student of Rav Chaim Brisker and was famed for his Talmudic lectures. Reb Boruch Ber, as he is called by his students and followers, was born in Slutsk and was known a prodigy while at a very young age. He was sent to learn in Volozhin yeshiva. After having a difficult time conflicting with the methods of the Rosh Yeshiva, he adopted the Talmudic approach of Chaim Brisker. Reb Baruch Ber’s love for Torah was so overwhelming that it seemed to determine every thought, word, and gesture - leaving nothing of the original Reb Baruch Ber, it seemed. This deep involvement began in his earliest years, and continued throughout his life.
Reb Boruch Ber's biography is available from Feldheim.
